Preregistration is now open for the highly anticipated Maker Faire Long Island Workshops on June 3rd, 2023.
Workshops’ times and locations are subject to change. While preregistering lists you as an attendee, it does not guarantee availability.
⚠️ Only register for workshops you confirm to attend ⚠️. In the event you cannot make the workshop, please let us know as soon as possible, so we may open up registration to others.
PLEASE NOTE these pre-registration spots are limited, but additional workshop spots will be available on the day of the faire. Please see Makers at their booth locations for more details and signups.

- Ray's Robots & TeleCrafsMan
- Maker: Ray & Chris Rumore
- Age: Ages 6 and up
- Workshop Time: 11:00 am
- Description: Join us for a unique experience as Ray & Chris Rumore from Ray's Robots welcome the project TeleCrafsMan. Have a virtual telepresence talk with Maker CrafsMan via it! The TeleCrafsMan is a telepresence robot that allows interactive conversations with the popular YouTube Maker "CrafsMan." There will also be smaller, more casual "meet and greets" with him throughout the day.
- NYIT: Creating 3D Art and Digital Design to Build Your Own Metaverse
- Maker: Dr. Randy Stout, NYIT
- Age: Recommended for ages 13 and up for VR Use
- Workshop Times: 11:00 am and 2:00 pm
- Description: Showcase how VR headsets can help artists and designers create virtual objects and collaborate in the metaverse. Learn how to build your own personal metaverse using VR technology.
- NYIT: Building VR Apps for Fun, Exercise, and Training
- Maker: Dr. Randy Stout, NYIT
- Age: Recommended for ages 13 and up for VR Use
- Workshop Times: 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm
- Description: Discover VR applications built by medical students for human biomechanics research and therapy improvement for neurological disorders like Parkinson's disease. Learn how to build your own VR applications using a VR headset and computer.
- NYIT: Virtual Reality for Exploring the Building Blocks of Our Cells
- Maker: Dr. Randy Stout, NYIT
- Age: Recommended for ages 13 and up for VR Use
- Workshop Times: 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm
- Description: Explore brain cells in virtual reality and learn how robotic laser-scanning microscopes reveal a microscopic world in our minds that is different from what most people expect.
- Robot Design for EveryOne
- Maker: Snappy XO
- Age: Ages 9 and up
- Workshop Time: 11:30 am
- Description: Learn to design and build a walking robot with the SnappyXO Invention kit and MotionGen Pro software. Create a cute little machine that can hop and walk, with the ability to tweak the walking motion to resemble different animals.
- Padawan Training - Star Wars: Endor Temple
- Maker: Andrea James
- Age: Up to 12
- Workshop Times: 11:30 am, 2:30 pm
- Duration: 30-45 minutes (cap 25 children)
- Description: Interactive lightsaber and force training class for children. Learn the basics of the force and how to use a training lightsaber. Limited to 25 children, and registration confirmation and additional disclosure are required.
- Light Saber Choreography

- Age: Ages 12 & up
- Workshop Time: 3:30 pm
- Duration: 1 hour (cap 10 adults)
- Description: Partner up with an experienced Saber Guild member to learn the art of lightsaber choreography. Limited to 10 adults, and registration confirmation and additional disclosure are required.
- NYIT: Are You Stronger Than a Lemur?

- Age: Elementary, Middle, and High School (see times)

- Description: Test your grip strength and compare it to other students in New York and fascinating primate species. Discover how strong you are and learn about biomechanics.
- Stony Brook University (VIP BEAR & Friends Workshop Series 1): Biomedical Engineer, The Maker

- Duration: 1 hour
- Workshop Times: 10:00 am and 4:00 pm
- Description: Explore the iterative engineering design process by building your own circuit and craft as a prototype for a biomedical innovation.

- Description: Interact with crocheted biological cells and bio-inspired crocheted items. Learn basic crochet skills to start your own project.
