Join us each day for a FUN Spooky STEM activities during our 90-minute DROP-OFF Program.

Throughout October, the Long Island Explorium will bring spooky fun with Spooky Science Weekends, where guests can enjoy hands-on, Halloween-themed STEM ACTIVITY. Long Island Explorium guests are welcome to wear a costume on 10/30/22!

Some of the planned Spooky Scient Weekend activities you may see:

• Spooky Halloween Slime. Making slime has proven to be fascinating for kids and adults of all ages, but you might not be familiar with basic slime science. Slime involves chemistry and is a  non-Newtonian fluid! 

Get gooey and messy as you learn the science behind slime! 

 

• Make your own mummy. The discovery of Egyptian mummies has amazed people to join the Long Island Explorium and learn the science and art of Egyptian mummification! Includes an experiment to mummify a hotdog and a take-home craft.

• Hocus Pocus Magical potions. The Explorium brings the magic as you learn about simple chemical reactions behind potion making. 

• Spooky Halloween bats. Halloween STEAM's A is for Art.  So join the Long Island Explorium in making your own hanging bat decorations and learn about this amazing flying mammal!

Our small and friendly online workshop will include a solid balance of interaction, live engagement, and creative challenges. Plus, time for self-guided exploration during the 90-minute drop-off program for 2nd Grade up to 6th grade.

We keep our group sizes small so that every child's contribution is valued! Here your child will be challenged to discover, design, and explore various STEAM projects, while also getting a structured day with quality interaction with other campers.

All activities are aligned with NYSLS, ELA, and Math standards.

Workshop: 1-2:30 pm
Space is limited to 15 students per workshop
Cost per class: $25/ per student.

The workshops are designed for children entering grades 2-6.
